in many trucks are made from STEEL OF WEST VIRGINIA
special channels in combination with special I-beams,
J-bars or offset J-bars. Close tolerances and straightness
are achieved with these special sections, thus allowing
the equipment to function effectively in a fully-loaded
and extended condition.
Original
lift truck designs used standard materials and
proved inadequate in achieving the combined requirements
of strength, close tolerance, straightness and
economy. Today our special sections are able to
meet these customer-specific requirements. Special
chemistry, web and flange thickness, weldability,
surface hardness and impact resistance are carefully
incorporated into the recommended design.
The use
of special mast sections significantly reduces
manufacturing costs by reducing material weight
and in-plant operations. Thus, the custom-designed
shapes with close-fitting tolerances result in
both an improved product and process for the manufacturer.
