  • Electrical Technician
    Steel of West Virginia, Inc. has an immediate opportunity to join our successful team and provide technical support to plant maintenance personnel and conduct special projects.  We seek someone with in depth experience on PLC’s (SLC 500 and PLC 5, and Allen Bradley PanelView), solid state AC & DC motor controls, and excellent trouble shooting skills. Experience with Reliance AutoMax a plus.

    Bargaining Unit Jobs
    An excellent opportunity now exists to join the team at Steel of West Virginia in Huntington. Pay of $18.05 per hour for production employees and $19.55 for trade and craft employees (electricians, millwrights, machinists, and CNC lathe operators) after you work a brief probationary period.   • Production Worker - NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
    Production Workers at our plant recycle scrap steel in electric arc furnaces then continuously cast billets of steel which are hot rolled on one of our two rolling mills. Production Workers at our finishing lines then custom finish structural beams, channels, and special shape steel sections to customer specifications.
    You must - - (1) be able to do physically demanding work at extremes of heat and cold;
    (2) possess a high school diploma or GED;
    (3) and be drug free.

  • Trade and Craft Jobs
    We have an immediate need for electricians, millwrights, machinists, and CNC lathe operations.
    Electrician candidates must possess industrial experience and be able to demonstrate successful electrical trouble shooting experience, including instrumentation and AC/DC motor controls.
    Millwright candidates must have experience diagnosing, repairing, installing and maintaining industrial equipment and be able to demonstrate required skills through testing.
    Machinist candidates must have five years experience doing your own set-ups, running conventional lathes, mills, and surface grinders and be able to make complex parts from prints.
    CNC lathe operator candidates must have meaningful experience on CNC lathes (including proficiency in the use of micrometers and calipers) along with mechanical ability, blueprint reading ability, programming experience on CNC’s and computer skills.
